Based on Moons of Madness reviews, players are particularly pleased with the level of detail in the game, excellent use of color and shadow, quality drawing of the locations, and well-executed animation of the characters. The storyline of Moons of Madness is meticulously designed to be thrilling: you are a lowly engineer on a Mars-based research station, and your job is to keep things running smoothly at the facility. Recently, your daily routine has been disrupted: strong mars-quakes rattle the station, essential life support systems fail, no one has a good night’s sleep anymore, and you see strange things even when awake. Your clearance level is too low for you to ask questions, so you need to figure out what is happening here on your own. Apart from dealing with the sense of eternal loneliness and paranoia, you will have to face the sinister supernatural entity as you slowly unravel the tangle of mystery, dangerous secrets, and challenging puzzles. You no longer know what is real and what is simply a joke of your confused mind. All you know is that you want to stay alive until help arrives, but can you do that?

The game’s PC controls are clear and manageable. Despite some minor technical issues, it feels easy to pick up and play. Moons of Madness will be released for PS4 and Xbox 1 later, as it is still being optimized for consoles.

Replay Value 3/5

Moons of Madness deserves high praise for its outstanding visual representation and the appealing concept that successfully incorporates elements of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. However, the total lack of replay incentives as well as the linear plot development that has you spend all your time reading notes, solving puzzles, exploring the research site, and fleeing enemies make it a one-time game.
