FINAL FANTASY® XI: Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition
Final Fantasy XI: Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition is a collector’s piece of the world’s most compelling and treasured multiplayer online RPG. True fans of this fantasy franchise will enjoy exploring the fascinating world of Vana’Diel, leveling up their character’s skills, and completing hundreds of unique quests and missions along the way.
Graphics 4/5
The game boasts some darn good graphics even by today's standards. The picture looks impressive with all those vibrant colors and smooth textures. There are hardly and lags except, perhaps, when a few dozens of game characters gather in a single location at the same time. The characters are carefully designed, as are their armor and weapons, and the locations look boundless and epic. The game's visual effects, such as casting black magic spells or using your healing skills, are highly commendable too.
Gameplay 5/5
The main storyline of the game is conventional: the beautiful world of Vana’Diel is in danger. There is a war coming, and the only way to stop it is to find some brave adventurer willing to risk his life for the greater good. As the game progresses, you will complete a series of challenging missions, make friends with multiple NPCs, hone your fighting and healing magic skills, fight hordes of terrifying monsters, and eventually bring peace to Vana’Diel and its citizens. You will have as many as 22 jobs to choose from, including monks, mages, ninjas, thieves, and paladins, each possessing their unique skill set and powers. Help your character learn new techniques and develop their abilities by completing various exciting quests. Become the hero Vana’Diel so desperately needs!
Controls 4/5
Since the game is no longer available on consoles, it all comes down to how good your mouse-and-keyboard skills are. The MKB control scheme is functional but highly uncommon, so it will take a bit of getting used to it.
Replay Value 4/5
The Final Fantasy series has dominated the world of role-playing games for 15 years now. Final Fantasy XI was the company’s first attempt at making an MMO product, which turned out to be an immediate and smashing success. At some point, they stopped launching expansions and focused on updates and add-ons only, causing many users to switch over to FF XIV.
The Bottom Line
The Final Fantasy XI: Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition features five full-on expansion packs, multiple add-on features, and other exclusive perks for devoted fans to enjoy as they explore the ravishing world of Vana’Diel.
An incredibly supportive FF community;
An unlimited collection of quests, missions, and small tasks to complete.
Gamers, spoilt by Pixarlike graphics, will probably find the FF XI visuals dated.
