Despite the obviously intended quirkiness, Ben and Ed app boasts impressive graphics with an extreme level of detail. While the overall visual style is pretty grotesque, the developers manage to make use of Unreal Engine 4 to the fullest, providing us with quite realistic lighting and shadows. That makes Ben and Ed's specs somewhat demanding, but these advanced visual features are essential for the atmosphere this game tries to create.

Basically, this game is a 3D platformer, which means Ben and Ed's gameplay consists of jumping between platforms while avoiding dangerous obstacles, such as moving blades, swinging axes, huge hammers, lasers, you get the idea. However, one of the most original features of this game is that your character is an undead runner, so losing a limb is usually a mere inconvenience. Actually, you won't have any problems completing a level without arms and legs, and throwing your head around allows you to find hidden secrets.

Of course, there are all kinds of additional challenges and bonuses you can unlock. These additional levels are fun, and they help you reveal more about the main story. What's important for every such platformer, the gameplay is not that difficult: you don't need to try and fail a thousand times, instead, you're just supposed to find a smart way of doing something. That makes the game dynamic enough without being too easy.

The controls are probably the most important things for every platformer, and even Ben and Ed's latest version is not an exception. Sadly, the game is quite uncomfortable to play due to the controls being pretty unresponsive. There are serious problems with the object collision model, and the process of throwing your head around could be more precise.

Replay Value 3/5

Ben and Ed full game has a pretty nice plot with weird twists and additional materials. However, it's probably not captivating enough for most gamers to play it once again, and once you've figured out all of the puzzles, there's little to do in the game. Some multiplayer options could be a nice solution, but Ben and Ed lacks them.
