Chrome Browser - Google
Google Chrome Browser is one of the most popular web browsers in the world, on desktop and now on mobile platforms. Download Google Chrome for Android and iOS and enjoy 100% correct rendering, syncing with desktop versions, audios and videos on pages, and other benefits!
Functionality — 5/5
Chrome does all a decent browser should. It opens web pages, displays personalized recommendations on its homepage, supports multiple tabs and private browsing. You can store your passwords and history in Chrome, edit or delete it, or restore from the cloud when authorized. The browser also processes media correctly. Not that it’s much more than other browsers offer, but the experience is very similar to what desktop version delivers.
Design — 5/5
Mobile versions of Chrome-look similar to desktop. The browser offers the unified field for URLs and search requests, personal recommendations, access to your account, and personal settings. The logo and the color schemes are quite similar too (that is, the most comfortable to view). So far it doesn’t feature its own dark style, but, as soon as Android and iOS updates roll out, Chrome is sure to obtain it too.
Usability — 5/5
The developers did their best to adjust the experience to mobile devices. All the key buttons are large, and the settings offer the most important options. The app lets you easily open new tabs, open links, watch videos and listen to audios on pages, and even transfer funds with banking services.
The main reason to prefer mobile Chrome to Safari or, say, Opera is syncing with the desktop version. Integration is the leitmotif of this Google Chrome review, and for a reason. Just enter your Google credentials, and your passwords, history, and even tabs will be synced across all your devices with installed Chrome. Of course, you can edit all of these manually in the mobile version as well.
Its size is quite moderate, as well as its appetite, not so notorious as that of desktop versions. Chrome is fast, and it works well with the low-speed connection.
Cross-Platform Use — 5/5
Though it’s developed by Google, Chrome is available on iOS as well as on Android. There are versions for old phones and tablets, split for iOS and unified for Android. Maybe if Windows Phone supported Chrome with its engine, it wouldn’t fail so fast. Any mobile version of Chrome sync to others seamlessly.
In-App Purchases
The browser is completely free on any platform, and it is supposed to remain free as long as it exists. Instead, Google introduces its ads on web pages you visit, using its services to make these ads as relevant to you as can be.
The Bottom Line
Even though default browsers of today’s mobiles are quite good, there are still reasons to prefer Chrome to them. The main reasons are the experience similar to desktop, and seamless syncing to other versions of it.
Adjusted to mobile interface;
Integrated with other Google apps and services;
Completely free.
If you use Opera or Firefox on desktop, you better opt for it on mobile too.
