The visuals are the same as the original game. The art style is cartoon-like, and the décor in the location is either broken or DIY style, which rightly accentuates the intended atmosphere of the adventure.

In the incredibly popular game Hello Neighbor, tinyBuild presented a weird man who kept a lot of dark secrets in his home. That title was quite light-hearted with an occasional addition of some dark moments.

The prequel Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek is much heavier and tells the grim story, which happened before the original game. Painful emotions of the family that lost the mother are very well shown, and we have to say that it was quite painful to observe how the sad story unfolds.

You take the role of the sister and play with your brother while everything seems to be quite well. At some point things go wrong, you find out that your mother died, and the relationships in your family start ruining.

Almost without explanation, you’re put into a room where your adventure begins. The setting looks like a scene from the child’s imagination, and the hide-and-seek game turns into more serious collect-and-run action. You need to gather various items on each level without being caught by your brother. Each level has its own theme, which gets darker as you progress.

Controls 4/5

If you’ve already played the original game Hello Neighbor, you won’t have any problem whatsoever since overall, the controlling system is almost identical. If you’re new to the game, after several minutes into the playing you will get the hang of the controls, and you’ll be good to go.

Replay Value 3/5

Once you’ve completed the game, the events will be the same the second time you play, i.e., you will know all the places where the items that you collected are hidden. Yet, in our Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek we would like to share a lifehack with you. If you enjoyed the game and want to repeat the session, you may try getting caught by the brother who will take away things discovered by you and re-hide them in a new place.

Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek is a decent stealth horror game, which has great graphics and solid but tragic storyline. There’s a lot of fun in solving puzzles, so the game is definitely worth downloading if you don’t mind its slightly somber atmosphere.
