KineMaster Pro Video Editor
KineMaster is a multifunctional video editor for mobiles, available for iOS and Android. With it you can create complicated projects with advanced audio editing, filters, transitions, export and publish them on social media. You can download Kinemaster for iOS and Android for free and subscribe to access extra features.
Design 5/5
It’s quite unusual for a mobile editor to be non-linear, but here it is. It looks quite like a desktop non-linear video editor, with a multitrack timeline, built-in mixers, file browser, and effect zone. The app looks much better on tablets, for obvious reasons; on iOS, there are separate iPhone and iPad versions (joint through iCloud), and the Android version detects the screen parameters automatically and changes its layout.
Usability 5/5
As you start a new project, the app offers ratio options (including Instagram-friendly square ratio and even vertical mode, already considered comme il faut in mobile video editing). The project lets you import videos, audio tracks, and static photos, joining them with various transitional effects.
The app’s library offers lots of transitions, filters, word art effects, and special effect macros. The subscription unlocks access to effect library, and they are easy to apply.
It doesn’t take the freshest device to run Kinemaster, but, of course, hardware performance matters. The devices manufactured in the last two years will handle it with no problem (though it depends on how many tracks your project contains).
As for quality, Kinemaster lets you export video in up to 4K, with 60 FPS – more than enough for a mobile editor. You can export these videos to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or other social media right from the editor. You can even convert them to select various ratios for different media.
Features 5/5
The main strength of Kinemaster is the Asset Store, where effects, fonts, transitions, filters, other special features can be bought. This modular construction lets you buy effects when you need them, not overpaying for the entire packs you won’t use.
In-app purchases 5/5
Though the basic version is available for free, unleashing the full-throttle will cost you $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr. The subscription removes ads and brings you full features. In addition, you can buy extra effects constantly for extra sums. There are alternatives for less money or for single payments, but Kinemaster is an affordable solution if videos matter for you.
The Bottom Line
Kinemaster is a powerful editor with options earlier available for desktop platforms only. Simplified by multiple pre-made effects and enriched by Asset Store, it can be the best entrance to the world of professional video editing.
Non-linear editing;
Optimized for tablets;
Rather moderate requirements;
Cloud and social media support.
Too powerful for amateurs.
