Pokémon Shield

Pokemon Shield is a role-playing game, the next release in the Pokemon video games series. The release date of this role-playing game is November 15, 2019. The Pokemon Shield game was introduced with the Pokemon Sword release, but you can purchase them separately. Pokemon Shield coming out on Nintendo Switch, so you can install and download Pokemon Shield’s latest update on Nintendo Store. 

Graphics: 5/5

The game is made in the cartoon style. The visuals used in the game are high-quality and have great animations. For example, in a new open-world feature, the developers added the dynamic weather change option. Although there are a lot of critics around the Pokemon Shield’s graphics, we really liked it. The characters look alive, and the new 81 Pokemons were added. The explored area has great colorful landscapes. 

Gameplay: 5/5

The Pokemon Sheild review showed that the game shares the same plot and storyline as its previous releases. But there are some new additions, including a brand-new region and new Pokemon species. What about species, if you are a Pokemon fan, you most likely, heard the announcements that not all the Pokemon types will be presented in the game. Only those that appeared in the Galar region. Also, there were added new species such as Wild Duck frighting Pokemon Sirfetch’d, and others.

The new improvements also include the Pokemon Camp, where you can feel like the Pokemon trainer and a new region — Galar. This area is full of wondrous sights and was made in the British vibes. Another visiting card of the game is Dynamaxing and  Gigantamaxing features. The first one allows players to make their Pkemons bigger during the battles. In contrast, Gigantamaxing allows not only to increase the size of characters but also change their appearance. But this feature is only specific to certain Pokemon species. 

Controls: 5/5 

The game has a wide range of available commands that allow players to interact with objects and perform the actions. Overall, the control mechanism is divided into two types: casual and regular. The casual controls allow you to play with a single JoyCon. You can select right or left, it doesn’t matter. To make this possible, the developers were forced to change some commands. You can find the full instruction inside the games or on the official site. 

Replay Value: 5/5

The Pokemon Shield game has high replay value. This is due to several factors. First of all, the game has two modes: a multiplayer and a single-player. You can choose to play with your friends or alone. The next factor is the fairytale graphics that grab your attention from the first second. Thirdly, this launch has a lot of new features. And the last but not the least factor is that this game is a part of the legend Pokemon games series which has a large community of players. 

The Bottom Line

Pokemon Shield was released in November 2019. It was only developed for one platform (like all other games from the Pokemon series) — Nintendo Switch. In fact, this release contains a lot of new amazing features. For example, new Pokemon species, Dynamaxing and  Gigantamaxing, Pokmon Camp, and much more. The game can be played in a multiplayer and a single-player regime. The controls are simple and easy-to-understand.
