Drawn like a good comic book, the game reminds of wild cabaret style. Kitty Powers is, in fact, a real person, a well-known British drag queen, so don’t expect anything serious: there will be extravaganza, comedy, burlesque, colors, caricatures, and exaggeration. And, as rich and colorful as it is, the game is under 50MB and compatible even with devices of 2011-12.

Gameplay — 4/5

In this simulator, you don’t play a guy or a girl who wants to succeed in building a relationship or conquering hearts. The gameplay is much more diverse because you are destined to run an entire dating agency and bring many various characters together. With the book of dating, you can see different potential mates, take some of them out, and see what happens during your date.

Your agency can encounter lots of different situations to handle. You can suddenly run into your ex, or have to get through total misunderstanding, or help your crush out of troubles, or show you at your best along with the date, and so on. The game offers millions of combinations, and most of them are quite surprising – like in real life.
From the places where you appoint your dates, up to the characters themselves, the game is full of fantasy and inventiveness. It won’t leave you bored with its imagination and irony, even if you’re usually not into dating simulators.

Controls — 5/5

There is nothing special about controls in this game; everything is intuitive. Tap a button to select your possible crush. Pull a handle to play a sort of slot machine. Tap the gear to enter settings. It’s all made not to make you any trouble. Maybe some unconditional control solution would emulate the anxiety, but, luckily, the developers didn’t go this way.

Replay Value — 5/5

There are so many people to meet, and exotic restaurants you can visit together, and strange situations that can happen while you’re getting to know each other. In addition, there is an online competition so that you can measure your success. If you like the game from the beginning, you’ll probably adore it when you taste it.

The Bottom Line

Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker is a game made with fantasy, humor, and soul. The developers invested a lot of work and creativity, and we see a vivid, romantic and funny simulator. Alas, there isn’t a demo version, and the price differs: Steam version is the most expensive, and iOS version is more expensive than that for Android.
