Though a small screen (even a tablet one) has little to do with large TVs, the designers did their best to recreate the good old TV experience. No matter if you are watching it on your mobile or broadcasting to your monitor or TV; it’s all like a TV channel, with a bit of picture-in-picture.

If you’re near a TV with no NBC subscription on it, you can broadcast it to the TV from your phone or tablet, if it has an Apple TV, Chromecast, or any other media. It causes virtually no extra delay. The quality preserves as well.

In fact, the app brings the complete TV experience to your mobile device. With it, you can watch what’s on air now, as well as select shows on demand. There are new and old seasons and episodes, of both shows still produced and aired, and of classics like Friends, Santa Barbara, Grimm, Hannibal, and others. All of them are easy to find with a built-in search or in categories.

Alas, all this greatness can be ruined by bugs, probably caused by the app’s sensibility to data transferring. It can be buffering a show for longer than it lasts, or refuse to connect over a cellular network, or just not accept your data. Hope the developers fix it with the next update.

Along with its news, analytics, and talk shows, NBC is famous for its drama and criminal series that fit into its concept well. There are Law & Order, Days of our Lives, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and so on. But reality shows are what NBC is the best at. America’s Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior, The Voice, and rather new Songland, Bring the Funny, and more non-scripted shows are the real attraction for the audience.

Of course, watching NBC on mobiles requires subscription. If you are a subscriber already, you can just enter your credentials. If not, you can register on NBC website. Registering and paying within the app is impossible, because of NBC disagreeing with Google’s and Apple’s policy on sharing payments. So, to use this app, you will have to pay, but you have to do it on external resources. Not the most convenient way.
