Snapseed
Snapseed is a semi-professional photo editor by Google LLC. It offers a wide range of universal tools that will turn your device into an all-in-one studio. It allows you to edit light and color, retouch skin, erase objects, straighten or crop image, and do many more things. You can download Snapseed for iOS on App Store and Android on Google Play.
Design – 5/5
It may be quite difficult to understand the functions and capabilities of each tool at the start, but it’s easy to select, adjust, and use them. When you upload a photo, you can switch between filters and tools in a single tap. In the latest version that we used for this Snapseed review, all instruments are placed on a single panel, so that you could see them all at the same time. Interfaces of each tool are convenient enough for using the app with one hand on the go.
Usability – 5/5
The Snapseed app is a real wonder on the market of photo editors. First of all, it’s free. Secondly, it’s almost as good as mobile Lightroom. It combines features from all those paid apps that offer just a couple of editing tools and nothing more. With Snapseed, you can change images beyond recognition. Do you want to remove that pigeon from the car or make your skin tone smooth and glance? There’s almost nothing impossible for this app. You can unleash your creativity and create beautiful works every day without a computer. The export quality is also commendable. Unlike the majority of other editors, Snapseed has a perfect compression ratio that doesn’t pixelate images.
Features – 5/5
The toolbox includes over 30 color and tone filters, brushes for sharpening, spot healing, grain filters, perspective changer, artificial HDR, white balance, and other light/color adjustments. Other tools are the adjustable filter with multiple settings and presents. They include grunge with particles, retrolux, vintage, drama, and noir. Moreover, you can play with different types of focus.
In-app Purchases – 4.5/5
You can download the free Snapseed app and use all its features forever without any subscriptions or extra feature add-ons. All tools are available for free. On the other side, it’s a flaw, because there’s no way to expand the filter gallery. It’s notably smaller than on Instagram or Snapchat, so it would be nice to see some extra ones even if they are paid.
Conclusion
Snapseed is the best free photo editor that you can find on the App Store and Google Play. Its set of instruments and filters is very close to the professional Adobe Lightroom app. It has a solution nearly for everything, and it can do things really quickly. If you need a more professional approach and cluster editing, try Lightroom.
