It’s a very visual remote, with colorful icons instead of buttons you see on hardware remotes. There is a traditional view too, of course, with generic digits, volume and channel arrows, on/off, mute/unmute and other buttons we are used to; this versatile remote can be used with multiple devices. And there is a part meant for Smart TV apps, mirroring that of the TV set.

The app is meant for using with the latest TVs by VIZIO, and it supports most models manufactured last years. You only need to pair the app with the TV, and it gets registered. It’s enough to run the app after the initial pairing, and it connects automatically. The app supports multiple devices; if it’s your case, you can select manually which TV to control.

Not relying on IR ports (missing in most Android phones and all iPhones), the app uses Wi-Fi to connect. Make sure your phone and TV are connected to the same local network.

One of the most attractive things about using a phone as a remote is its keyboard. Instead of letter hunting on the TV screen, you can just type your search requests on your phone. Quick access to favorite apps matters too. The app is compatible with most VIZIO TVs manufactured in 2016 or later. The volume control also applies to VIZIO soundbars and smart speakers.

It depends on the apps you have preinstalled or installed manually after, but all the content provided by them is easily available with this app. Create the list of Favorites, and access them with a single tap from this list. Operate the apps, and select the channels, streams, movies and shows you want to watch. The app can also stream audio from your music player to speakers by VIZIO. There are limitations, though: a single app cannot broadcast different audios to multiple soundbars or speakers.

There is nothing to purchase in this app, as you have already paid for its power along with the TV. The apps you install, though, may offer paid content based on subscription or single payments. Within these apps, of course, you’ll have to pay in order to access it, and the remote app doesn’t change a thing.
