Endomondo is a cross-platform fitness app, compatible with most modern trackers and services and available on most devices. With it you can track your activity, sleep and nutrition, schedule and control your workouts, get your stats analyzed, and more. You just need to download Endomondo for iOS or Android and register.

Endomondo, in its green colors, is quite a recognizable app, and the way it organizes and presents data is also its own. You may get a little perplexed after other apps, but in a matter of minutes you’ll be fine with it. Unlike other apps, its feed is a social thing, not your personal diary. There are tabs for conducting workouts, for viewing history, for inbox. All the rest, from nutrition to competition, is hidden in “More”.

The only annoying thing is a banner near the top of the screen. You can hide it only by going paid. But even in the free version, it’s not that much of a fun killer.

Like most fitness assistants, this app tracks your activity in real time. When you run, walk, or ride your bicycle, it records your track, calculates the calories you burn, and stores it in your stats. With Endomondo you can create your training plan in order to achieve your aims.

Your workouts are stored in history. As you progress, you can look back at where you started, or see the correlation between your activity, sleep, weight, and so on.

The undoubtable strength of Endomondo is versatility. No matter what platform you use; it’s here on iOS and Android. It’s compatible with most wearables, from Apple Watch and Samsung Galaxy Watch to those by smaller vendors.

It can exchange data with other apps, including those by Samsung, Fitbit, Garmin, Asus, Xiaomi, and so on, and even other versatile ones like MyFitnessPal, and save your progress in its own cloud. So, no matter how often you switch devices and platforms, Endomondo is responsible for the persistence of memory (work out till your watch melts!)

Along with personal stats and recommendations, Endomondo also offers its basic social features. You can scan your friends and see who is also using Endomondo, add them as friends, share your results to them and see theirs. There are challenges that motivate both you and your friends, making it a friendly rivalry.

The app is very persistent at recommending you its Premium service, with more useful features and content, but at $5.99/month (or $29.99/year, if you are confident enough). In fact, it’s not necessary for basic features. The free version shows ads, but one can put up with them, as they are not so annoying.

If you are into outdoor activity, Endomondo is one of the best options for your assistance. Versatile and specializing in outdoors, like running, biking, or power walking, it also has lots of other features. Connectable with multiple devices and third-party apps, it may become the center of your digitized workouts.
