Google Sheets
Google Sheets is a lightweight free alternative to the paid services by Microsoft. This app is focused on the creation, editing, and collaboration on tables and spreadsheets. The app works in it both online and offline modes and supports a wide range of table formats. You can download Google Sheets for iOS and Android on App Store or Play Market.
Design – 5/5
Google Sheets latest version looks perfectly neat and clear. It differs from Microsoft Office 365 mobile apps but doesn’t concede to them at all. All tools and options always appear when you select particular objects. The tablet version allows you to work a bit faster because it’s much easier to overview large tables on a big screen.
Usability – 5/5
Originally, this service worked only online, but it’s not convenient to use web apps on mobile devices. That’s why Google launched the G-Suite bundle with the Google Sheets app. This spreadsheet editor provides all essential features of Microsoft Excel but focuses more on online collaborative editing. It’s interconnected with all apps by Google via the Google Drive cloud. All documents are processed and stored there.
The biggest advantage of Google Sheets is accessibility. Even though it has fewer features than Excel, you can easily launch it on absolutely any device that has a web browser to view your documents and edit them. At the same time, both mobile and web apps support offline editing with automatic uploading.
Features – 5/5
Using Google Sheets, you can create all types of spreadsheets and tables on the go and continue editing them on your desktop computer or laptop from exactly the same place. The system saves every symbol you enter so it’s impossible to lose anything if your device switches off or you close the app accidentally even if you’re offline. Unlike Excel, this app is well-optimized, so you can view more than 2 files, even on slow devices.
In-app Purchases – 5/5
All apps of the G-Suite are available for free with all features unlocked by default. There are no ads or any additional packages of features, so you won’t need to pay for the subscription. Google Drive provides 15GB free space by default, which is more than enough for personal use. Extra space costs less than anywhere, which is an excellent advantage.
The Bottom Line
Actually, this Google Sheets review was entirely written in Google Docs, which is another popular app of the bundle. Both apps work on the same principles. You can create and edit documents in the app, while they’re automatically saved in your cloud every second. The toolbox of Google Sheets is very close to Excel, but all features are provided for free.
Supports team collaboration on documents;
No subscription, all features are free;
Default 15GB Google Drive storage;

The interface looks quite plain.
