HP ePrint
HP ePrint Enterprise is the part of the ePrint Enterprise security solution for mobile printing within companies. It’s a cloud-based service that allows you to share access to company documents among employees and send them to any printer within the corporate network. You can download HP ePrint Enterprise for iOS on App Store and Android on Play Market.
Design – 4.5/5
Apps by HP usually look very utilitarian, and HP ePrint Enterprise app is not an exclusion. It has a simple, minimalistic design. All features are available through the main menu where you can choose what types of documents you need right now. Every step to printing doesn’t include a “go back” button. For some reason, the iOS version has a navigation bar at the bottom. It lets you jump between features quickly, while the Android version pushes you to use system buttons and spend more time tapping back.
Usability – 4.5/5
HP ePrint Enterprise is a universal solution for companies that need additional data protection for all devices, including smartphones, tablets, and printers. It’s also a key to public printing services, such as FedEx, The UPS Store, HP Public Print Locations, Hilton, PosITia, and others. There are over 30,000 spots.
The activation of the firewall happens via the Email. You will receive an activation code to activate it and link to the network safely. As soon as you do this, you enable your device to work with all the printers around. It’s quite hard to make the entire system function without disruptions, which is definitely a flaw of developers. However, when you finally do, it runs smoothly. The only significant flaw that we noticed during tests for this HP ePrint Enterprise review is the background GPS usage. It can drain your battery in several hours if you don’t kill the app process.
Features – 4.5/5
With HP ePrint Enterprise iOS and Android apps, you obtain 3 services. The first one, ePrint Enterprise, provides protected cloud storages for company files. The second, Public Printing, enables your device to be compatible with over 30,000 on-the-go printing locations by over 20 brands. The last, Access Control, allows you to retrieve your print jobs and sign in to printers using a particular smartphone or tablet.
In-app Purchases – 4/5
HP ePrint Enterprise is a paid solution for companies. The price depends on specific contract conditions. If you want to use the ePrint Enterprise module, you have to purchase it separately. You’re also required to have ePrint Enterprise Servers of versions from 2.2 to 4.2. or any HPAC(1) servers.
The Bottom Line
HP ePrint Enterprise is a useful service for corporations where security must be on a very high level. It works well with HP servers and makes your employees more mobile due to the Public Printing module with a privacy password confirmation. On the other side, it’s quite difficult to set up and needs interface improvements.
Convenient cloud-based solution;
Perfect protection from breaches.
Very hard to set up;
Drains battery with the GPS module.
