Professional Review

The Amazing Frog is a unique and wacky game that comes with sandbox gameplay, quirky physics, and open world parkour. Your character, the Amazing Frog, is free to do as we please in the town of Swindon.

Graphics — 3.5/5

The game does not carry extraordinary graphics, and it doesn't have to. Amazing Frog is a simple game meant to be enjoyed for its unending fun. That being said, it does incorporate some decent artistic beauty into the gameplay. From the vehicles to the frog-hungry sharks, the creators did manage to add some uniqueness in terms of graphics. Other aspects of the game such as movements, shadows, buildings, and more also bring a certain amount of quality to the game.

Being a game that is designed to invoke laughter, the sound effects are quite hysterical in the Amazing Frog. Although there isn't any real dedicated sound to the game, the effects are extremely funny. From the sound of the frog running, to his excessive flatulence, and him being shot out of a cannon, the Amazing Frog delivers an all round entertaining experience. Other effects include sounds of weapons, basketballs, other frogs, and vehicles.

Gameplay — 5/5

While there is no real mission in the Amazing Frog, the open world gameplay allows you to do pretty much anything you want. You can pick up any object and throw it at other frogs in the game, jump onto any vehicle or animal and ride them, shoot yourself out of cannons, jump on trampolines and bounce houses, enter any building, use vending machines, and so much more. It is truly one of the most interactive games online and although it doesn't offer much in terms of missions and levels, the freedom you get with Amazing Frog is far from boring.

You can choose to run around the town of Swindon by yourself, or take a friend - or friends - along as you play in split-screen mode. Compete amongst yourselves or work together, it doesn't matter. Push you friends into the shark laden water or rescue them using a boat. With Amazing Frog, there are no limits to your madness or imagination. Anything and everything goes.

Replay Value — 4.5/5

Amazing Frog might not come with fancies like stunning graphics and dedicated missions, but it still manages to deliver an above average gaming experience. At times, you can find yourself addicted to the game as you keep going back to it to try and complete a personal goal. Although it takes some time to get used to its extremely clumsy physics, the Amazing Frog is a game that has potential to be one of the best open world games available.

As mentioned above, the Amazing Frog could soon be topping charts worldwide - not for its graphics, but for its enthralling gameplay. Very few open world games allow you to do the things Amazing Frog allows you to do and it is that kind of freedom that is attractive to gamers around the world. While games with a point or missions are no doubt, great, having the option of pushing your friend off of a high-rise or shooting yourself out of a cannon can only be a bonus.

The Amazing Frog is an ideal option if you love open world games that give you complete freedom to do as you please.
