Days Gone
Days Gone is a dynamic shooter game in which you play as Deacon St. John, a grim biker riding his bike through post-apocalyptic Oregon. Download Days Gone and fight endless hordes of zombies.
Graphics 4/5
Days Gone app doesn't have any visual features that could be considered innovative, but the graphics engine does its job rather well. The bike physics are exceptional, so riding it feels great – and every upgrade you install affects its behavior on the road directly, providing you with even more realistic experience. The overall atmosphere is pretty bleak, which gets annoying pretty soon, but it suits the post-apocalyptic world around you.
Gameplay 3/5
Days Gone PS4 sends you roaming across post-apocalyptic Oregon in search of some clues around your character's deceased wife. However, the main story fails to build an emotional connection with the characters that would be strong enough for you to care. The focus shifts way too often, and story missions tend to feel over-dramatic. The full Days Gone game just tries too hard to evoke emotions but fails to do so repeatedly, leaving a sense of insincerity.
Anyway, when it comes to pure gameplay, this game becomes a lot of fun. Deacon's bike makes the game rather dynamic, allowing the story to unfold smoothly and creating an entirely new feeling of the open-world. Zombie fights are pretty interesting, and encountering a horde of them makes the most thrilling moments in the game. Of course, there are guns in the Days Gone action game, but it feels much more satisfying to smash undead with weighty melee weapons that can be crafted from a couple of items you can find in your travels.
Controls 4/5
The controls are not that intuitive, and you have to learn them for a while. Riding your bike while a pack of stray dogs is following you is a real challenge at first, but later on, in the game, it becomes an easy encounter. However, Days Gone PS4 is pretty comfortable with a controller, so the controls do not get in your way even in the most intense moments. The interface elements are neatly located on the bottom of your screen, offering a clear view.
Replay Value 2/5
While the Days Gone gameplay is a lot of fun, especially when you have to deal with lots of undead at once, the overall charm of those couple of hours at the start tends to fade rather quickly. The story is bland, and the missions are so repetitive that they get boring by the middle of the game. While it is probably a nice game to play once, you won't be that eager to play it again.
The Bottom Line
Full of potential, Days Gone falls short of really engaging content. Download Days Gone and crush as many zombies as you can.
Advanced graphics;
Convenient controls;
Great atmosphere.
Repetitive missions;
Low replay value.
