We Were Here Together
We Were Here Together is an adventure game with a focus on exploration and puzzle-solving in a cooperative mode. You’re stuck in the haunted mountain town of Caste Rock, and your mission is to get through numerous immersive puzzles to find the way out. Your friends from the Antarctic base are in trouble, and you have to save each other until it’s too late. You can download We Were Here Together for Windows, Mac OS, and Linux on Steam. It has left Early Access already.
Graphics – 5/5
We Were Here Together latest version has beautiful Unity Engine visuals. Total Mayhem Games did their best to create a diverse world amongst the rocky, snowy cons of Antarctica. The high-quality lighting and textures make the Castle Rock town look like a place that used to be alive once upon a time. It’s so atmospheric that you may feel lost in the middle of nowhere once you are alone in the location.
Gameplay – 5/5
We Were Here Together gameplay is mainly based on cooperative interactions between 2 players. You can be on different sides of the map, but all your actions are interconnected. You have to struggle through a line of challenging puzzles to find the exit from the devastated town and return to your home base safe. The story begins in the camp, where you both rest after your daily routines. The emergency call wakes you up all of a sudden, and you receive SOS. Your fellow explorers got into trouble, and you have nothing else to do but hurry up to conduct a rescue mission as soon as possible. The deal gets tougher and tougher when you move further, and you get stuck as well. The medieval castle town separates you from each other with walkie-talkies for communication. Only teamwork will help you to get out.
Controls – 5/5
We Were Here Together supports both keyboard-plus-mouse and all types of wired and Bluetooth controllers, so you can make it as convenient as possible. There is no fast action, so you don’t have to make something really fast. All puzzles are very natural, making you feel like touching them with hands.
Replay Value – 4/5
We Were Here Together full game provides you with different escaping options, so it’s exciting to take the challenge several times in a row. You can play it with a friend, or connect with a random person, which is even more exciting because you don’t know each other at all.
The Bottom Line
We Were Here Together is a great cooperation game that will help you escape boredom during rainy fall evenings. It’s a very cheap and brilliantly made adventure game that’s impossible to criticize. The only concern that we had while making this We Were Here Together review was about the replayability. Unfortunately, a single-player mode is impossible here.
Unique Arctic setting;
Perfect cooperation puzzles for a very low price;
Different approaches to escaping;
Picturesque terrains and rooms.
Low replayability.
