A Plague Tale: Innocence is a video stealth game that does not deliver a lot of moments, allowing you to feel powerful. You will find challenges at every turn of this hostile world. Download A Plague Tale: Innocence, find out more about the dark ages and complete the missions to survive. You will play from a third-person perspective.

Graphics 5/5

Though it is not a real horror game, it looks like that. The graphics are perfect with realistic characters and nice details. The surrounding is dark, creating an intense sense of danger.

Gameplay 5/5

You will navigate a key character – a young girl Amicia, traveling across France infected by the plague. The events developed in 1349 when this awful disease ravaged Europe. Amicia, together with her younger brother Hugo, is escaping from the Inquisition. On their way, they will meet a lot of obstacles and perform tons of tasks. But their principal goal is to survive unbeatable odds. In this A Plague Tale: Innocence review, we shall not describe the content of the title, just give you its general idea.

Your interaction with the environment depends on the current situation. You will choose various ways to react to strange people, who prevent you from continuing to go on, the infected rats, the Inquisition quads following in your footsteps. Amicia has a sling to fight against the enemies; she can use rocks, unlock useful tools to solve problems. It is allowed to apply fire to frighten away the rats, the smashed pots to distract the humans, and just to run away from the chasers. At the same time, you are not provided with a lot of freedom to act.

Controls 4/5

You are suggested to benefit from a rather efficient control scheme and master a lot of keys. There is a tutorial with a detailed description of the basic mechanics. You will know the ways to fight and escape. There are PC and console controls, allowing you to move, jump, shoot, drop, interact, and much more.

Replay Value 5/5

Here the most activities are focused on crafting and stealth, but there are a lot of missions, including battles, unlocking of the objects, solving of the puzzles, and others. You will have to overcome a lot of obstacles and perform a lot of tasks to complete levels. There are 17 chapters in the whole, and you will always get the same ending whatever you choose while playing. The game is deep enough, though, we cannot say that the replay value is too high.

The Bottom Line

The game looks brutal with all those pictures of disease, a pile of corpses, blood, and more. You will like the manner the gameplay and storytelling is combined. The narration is rather interesting, and the final battle with bosses is really fascinating. The atmosphere here will create a sense of danger from the very beginning, which will remain until the game is over.
