Known for its graphics and colorful display, Kirby Star Allies features stunning, sharp visuals, an array of Kirby guises and animations and a dazzling set of characters. Each movement that Kirby carries out, is displayed with an enjoyable activity, like his hat bobs up and down each time he jumps, or when he spins and attacks his enemies when he achieves wrestler powers. Each level showcases a beautiful design and animations of its own engulfing players in jaw-dropping visual effects and sound effects and stereoscopic 3D graphics.

With the return of the little pink puff, he is now backed up by 4 new characters to help him get through his journey in Dream Land. Not only does the game come with a multiplayer option but players can invite their own friends to join in and create a team of their own with up to 4 players. Gaining members can be done by simply hitting enemies with hearts. The gameplay of this new version has developed thanks to its Kirby's new abilities which include water, sword, bomb, fire, broom and many more others. What makes it even more exciting and entertaining is Kirby can gain help from his friends to add to the attack power by borrowing abilities or sharing them with his friends. These include various elements like fire, water, wind, electricity, etc. to help create ten times the power and also to help solve puzzles in the game. The overall gameplay is kid-friendly and extremely impressive and is considered as a great path to introducing new players to the life of Kirby.

The game can be played on a single player mode or with 3 additional players using the Pro controller or the Joy Con. The controls of the game are simple and straightforward, however, some of the attacks and techniques do require a combination of buttons which players would gradually get used to with time. On learning these new techniques, the overall gameplay pace is increased, making it more entertaining on the whole. Kirby comes with a set of his own moves and attacks and can be joined in by his team to perform team attacks with the help of simple movements.

Replay Value 4.5/5

The replay value of Kirby Star Allies depends solely on the add-on features and the collectibles. Owing to its extra modes and the puzzle pieces that are to be found while playing the game, players would definitely want to come back for more.  However getting through each stage is easy and mastering each level is a breeze, also taking into account collecting all the collectibles to achieve the highest score. This, therefore, hinders and limits the replay value of the game to an extent.
