POSTAL 4: No Regerts
POSTAL 4: No Regerts is a legendary FPS action game by Running With Scissors. The name of the studio perfectly shows its policy, or, actually, it’s absence. The game is full of almost meaningless ultra-violence, the most morbid humor ever, and hilarious social satire. If you were missing all these things as much as we were, download POSTAL 4: No Regerts on Steam Early Access.
Graphics – 4.5/5
Of course, POSTAL 4: No Regerts latest version because much smoother than the original pixelated game of the early 2000s. At the same time, it preserves the initial awkwardness of the Dude’s town with all its red rocky valleys idiotic building development plan, and annoying provincial interiors. The classic physics also remains the same, so that you can feel happy kicking ripped off head around.
Gameplay – 4.5/5
POSTAL 4: No Regerts gameplay includes nearly all mechanics from original chapters and mainly from Postal 2 and 3. You still can use cats instead of a silencer, pour gasoline around and burn places down along with panicking citizens, and shoot without caring about bullets. The new amusements available in the early aces build deadly fire hoses and cages with evil pigeons. Moreover, now you can ride various funny vehicles to hit everyone around and shoot from both hands, and even throw boomerangs. If everything that you read sounds too horrible and violent, don’t ever try this game.
On the other hand, nobody says that you have to kill anyone. The people in this crazy town are usually the first to start fighting with you just because they may not like your face or the way you look at them. The criminals can start shooting you if you come to the wrong place by accident, so shooting around insanely is more a self-defense measure to save Dude’s life and let him finally buy the damn milk and pay the bill.
Controls – 4/5
The attitude to game development of this team is always, to put it mildly, is strange. They don’t get it to the end entirely. Never. For this POSTAL 4: No Regerts review, we tested the early access build, so there’s nothing to complain about yet. On the other hand, the controls could be more responsive than they used to be in 2003. The controller support is also absent, but we have no hopes to see it.
Replay Value – 4.5/5
POSTAL 4: No Regerts full game has a pretty short storyline with a handful of cool jokes and scenarios. However, it’s not always exciting to think about the plot while you’re being attacked from everywhere. There’s no multiplayer or co-op as well, but we still hope to have it later. It will be extremely fun to blow some steam off with friends who get it right.
Conclusion
POSTAL 4: No Regerts is a nice try to revive the one legendary franchise for ashes. Kids are not likely to evaluate it, but those who remember it will have a good load of nostalgia and wild, bloody fun. It’s recommended to everyone who misses good old dark humor and meaningless violence in games.
New plot;
A bigger town with more exciting stuff;
Traditional atmosphere.
Dark overtheedge humor.
