Professional Review

The Impossible Game is a hardcore 2D platformer game developed by Grip Games in 2011. In the game, you have to control a square character to complete almost impossible levels. The only way to finish a level is to make no mistakes at all. 85% of Steam reviews on this title are highly positive. Today you can download The Impossible Game for your Windows PC, Mac, Steam Machine, iOS, and Android devices. The original version is also available for Xbox 360, PS3, and PSP.

Graphics 5/5

Though The Impossible Game release date is 2011, it still looks very smooth. In fact, this game’s design became the prototype for the famous Geometry Dash by Robert Topala. The original game has mono-color gradient backgrounds, black obstacles, and a red square character.

Gameplay 5/5

The Impossible Game gameplay is rather hardcore. There are no checkpoints, so you have to make your way through every stage without making mistakes. The character can’t die, so you have unlimited attempts. There is a counter that shows the index number of every next try.

Every mission includes an exclusive electronic soundtrack that is very cool. The music reminds 90s-style rave parties where people dance to happy hardcore, drum-n-bass, and bass-house. All levels are rhythmically synchronized with tracks, so you may have a feeling that you are a DJ.

The Impossible Game free download doesn’t include all features, while the paid version also provides a level editor. It allows you to make unique challenges and share them with the online community. You can also download custom designs from the free library.

The Impossible Game review is quite similar to the one about Geometry Dash, but you have to remember that GD is not the original one. If you want to experience the pure gameplay, TIG is recommended.

Controls 5/5

This is a one-button platformer. No matter which platform you choose to play on, the experience is always the same. However, you must have a good sense of rhythm to match timings. Otherwise, your chances to complete at least one level are very low. On the other hand, you can try to memorize all the obstacles to make the way.

Replay Value 4/5

Unfortunately, there are only 5 levels in the game and an endless practice mode. That’s why Geometry Dash became much more popular. The only way to make the gameplay longer than one hour is to download user levels (which are not always good) or create your own designs to challenge yourself.

The Bottom Line

The Impossible Game is definitely worth a full completion because it’s a very addictive franchise. If you are a respectful gamer, you should try it before downloading Geometry Dash to get the idea of things. In general, it’s a great time killer.

Download The Impossible Game if you look for an excellent platformer to train your reaction speed and attentiveness.
