If you’ve ever used another streaming app before, you already have a pretty good idea of how the GLWiZ app looks and how to navigate it. The interface is pretty simple and straightforward, so you should have no trouble using the app even if you’ve never used Netflix, Hulu, or Prime Video apps before.

Since there are two versions of this app, one for portable devices and one for Android TV boxes, you need to make sure you install the right one on your phone or tablet. Both apps are listed under the same title on Google Play, so you’ll have to check the app description to see whether it’s meant to be used on mobile devices.

Unfortunately, the trouble may not stop once you’ve found the right GLWiZ download. Depending on your Android device, you may experience various issues with the GLWiZ app. One of the most common problems is constant crashes, which seem to happen on a number of devices from different manufacturers. Apparently, the app needs to be updated to work properly on devices running the latest version of Android.

If you’re lucky and the app doesn’t crash on your phone or tablet, you could still run into some bugs. For instance, the search function simply doesn’t work for some users, meaning that you’ll have to scroll through hundreds of titles to find the one you need. At the time of writing this GLWiZ review, the mobile app hasn’t been updated yet to display the same content as the Android TV app, so the selection of movies and series in the mobile app is much more limited.

When the app works properly, it is actually packed with great features. You can watch movies and series on-demand or stream live TV broadcasts on your phone. There’s even the Internet radio option built right into the app. If you have a limited data plan, you can choose to just listen to the audio track without streaming the video, which can come in handy when watching talk shows or news broadcasts. You can also add TV channels and radio stations to your favorites for quick access and sharing.

The GLWiZ app doesn’t offer any in-app purchases, but you do need a GLWiZ Smart TV subscription to use it.

The Bottom Line

If you already have a GLWiZ Smart TV subscription, you definitely need the mobile app to make the most out of it. With the GLWiZ Android app, you have access to multicultural radio and television wherever you are while you have an active Internet connection. If you’re considering getting a subscription for the mobile app, bear in mind that it might not work very well on your phone or tablet.
