Minecraft: Pocket Edition
Minecraft Pocket Edition is the latest mobile version of the game that truly captures the very soul and spirit of the original PC Minecraft. Players can download Minecraft Pocket Edition from Google Play and have fun exploring the beloved cubic universe of unlimited possibilities.
Graphics 5/5
The graphics here are as good as cubic graphics can ever get. Everything looks rougher, blockier, and sometimes even more Minecraft-esque than the original desktop version. Another cool perk that many users have praised in their Minecraft Pocket Edition reviews is the improved sound collection: while there aren’t any exquisite soundtracks here, every single move you make sounds better and more realistic.
Gameplay 4/5
Despite its limited set of features, Minecraft PE gives the same joy of creativity, exploration, and crazy adventure. The gameplay is a simplified version of the original desktop edition with a few modifications to make it more Android-friendly. Thus, there are two modes available – Creative and Survival. The first one is all about building things: the more objects you craft, the better. The Survival mode is for players who enjoy a little challenge. It involves achieving some more palpable goals, such as constructing a shelter, creating weapons, farming, and fighting enemies who come at night. Your final mission is to build the Nether Spire that can generate an astonishing amount of useful items to help you crush the aggressive zombies. Once the spire is deactivated, you will leave the reactor site a winner and continue with new daily survival missions.
Controls 5/5
The touchscreen controls for Minecraft PE are basic: the d-pad is found in the lower-left corner of your screen and allows you to jump and move forward, backward, right, and left. You can also take advantage of the auto jump feature. Camera rotation is done by swiping the screen, and blocks are placed and removed by tapping and holding down.
Replay Value 4/5
With fewer features, restricted game world, no PC sync, and poor multiplayer, the game can’t be expected to build a long-standing relationship with players, at least, not while the desktop version is around. However, it is a great choice for people who want to play their beloved game on the move.
The Bottom Line
Although Minecraft PE is very similar to the original PC game in terms of its gameplay and features, its more vibrant graphics and easy controls make the game worthy of your time and money. Download Minecraft Pocket Edition and let it give you a much-appreciated distraction from your hectic everyday life.
