Professional Review

Five Nights at Freddy’s is a classic horror game released on 8 August 2014 by indie developer Scott Cawthon. In this title, you have to play as an average security guard who got the job in an ordinary pizza place for children. You have to keep the defense from horrible mechanic toys called animatronics. Nobody knows what happened, but these guys are deadly. You can download Five Nights at Freddy’s for Windows, Android, and iOS and try to figure it out if you survive.

Graphics 4.5/5

Due to its appearance, Five Nights at Freddy’s game is one of the most highly recognizable horror franchises on the market. It’s doesn’t provide advanced graphics, but the obscure grainy image strikes terror. That’s why it’s fair enough to call the game wonderfully designed.

Gameplay 5/5

Five Nights at Freddy’s gameplay is not very inventive and replete, though very deep and immersive. You start as a security guard who got hired on a part-time job in the Freddy Fuzzbear’s Pizza restaurant for children. Your mission is straightforward. You have to sit in a comfortable armchair for 6 hours, 5 nights in a row. It could be an ordinary boring duty with coffee and donuts, but there is something wrong with the animatronics.

One of your main tasks during the night is to switch on CCTV cameras to make sure everything is alright. For some reason, the restaurant is not in its best condition, so the owners don’t have enough money to pay for electricity at night. That’s why they leave you a small battery which allows you to use lighting and CCTV only in short periods.

While the cameras are off, animatronics change their dispositions to draw closer to you and make an ambush. You should use electricity wisely to have enough power to shut the door at the most crucial moment. If you manage to do it, you will see the light in the morning. Alright, there’s no more place for spoilers in this Five Nights at Freddy’s review. You must play it your way.

Controls 5/5

Five Nights at Freddy’s latest version controls are very simple. You need only a mouse for the PC version or a single finger if you play on a smartphone. You have to press on tumblers to control the security office door and click the CCTV scheme to choose the appropriate camera. That’s it.

Replay Value 4/5

Five Nights at Freddy’s full game is rather short. You can complete it in about an hour. However, there are several options for a walkthrough. You may replay the game to find new hints and tricks to foolish animatronics. The whole thing may take about 3 hours in a row. If it’s not your was – you can download Five Nights at Freddy’s later chapters.

The Bottom Line

Five Nights at Freddy’s is one of the best horror franchises in video game history. Scott Cawthon managed to design an embodiment of our childhood nightmares and made it scary even for adults. This game is a must-have for all horror fans.
