War Robots
War Robots game is exactly what it says on the tin. In this game, you control an anthropomorphous military robot, upgrade its body, armor, and weapons, and fight other robots. Download War Robots to enter the world of futuristic combats!
Graphics 4/5
The greatest thing about this game is that it works well on rather old or budget devices. Its 3D environment may lack detail, but it still looks much better on tablets. The world here is a large polygon where war robots extinguish each other with all their firepower, set in 3D, with a third-person perspective. In the workshop, you can take a closer look at your robot and enjoy it.
Gameplay 4/5
As you control a war robot, you have coins and banknotes to spend on upgrades. You get both for successfully completed missions, which look simple: you enter the battleground and destroy a certain number of other robots. When it’s done, you go back to the workshop, get your reward, and spend it on new upgrades if you wish.
You start with a core model, but then over 50 mechs can be unlocked. Find the right combination of body, armor and weapons, so you’ll be heavily armed… but slow. Or mobile on maneuver, but with low damage to enemies. Or well balanced, excellent at nothing, good at everything.
There are various missions – to destroy, to protect, to fool the enemy, and so on. But the most interesting part of it is multiplayer. Find a team that lacks you with your abilities, and join a major mech fight!
The community couldn’t help creating rich lore about this game. It’s a shame James Cameron will hardly read this. But you can, and the stories in your head may look just as attractive.
Controls 4/5
It’s all quite basic, with just one thing to consider. There is no separate aiming system. While the joystick under your left thumb is still responsible for moving your robot, the camera motion area in the right is used for aiming as well. You can get used to it in a matter of minutes; still, a first-person aiming model would be a better option. The button-based upgrade system has no issues.
Replay Value 5/5
Like most online games, War Robots becomes rather a cybersport than an entertainment. With its constant upgrades, variety of modes, and endless numbers of potential allies and enemies, and terrifying powerful robots, this game can hold you for long.
Conclusion
Though this game is offered for free, you are supposed to buy more in-game currency to spend it on upgrades. In fact, you don’t have to, but those who may get ahead of you sooner. It’s the common curse of free-to-play; in all the other aspects the game is very decent.
Free to play, no payments necessary;
Compatible with old and budget phones;
Multiplayer with millions of enemies.
If you don’t donate, your pace will get slower soon.
